Hamilton was established in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. The brand gained fame for its first product, the Broadway Limited, which was a watch developed to provide accurate train times. In 1914, Hamilton became a supplier for the US Army and in 1919 began providing timekeeping services for ski competitions and the US Postal Service. In the 1930s, many airlines adopted Hamilton as their official timepieces. During World War II, Hamilton produced nearly a million military watches. In 1970, Hamilton introduced the world's first digital watch, the Pulsar, and in 1977, it was acquired by the Omega-Longines-Swatch Group. Hamilton currently operates under the Swatch Group.
