Brand Introduction
Hamilton was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, and is known for exceptional timekeeping.
The brand first gained recognition with the Broadway Limited pocket watch, which served as a tool for providing accurate train times.
In 1914, Hamilton was selected as a supplier for the US Air Force, and by 1919, it offered timing services for ski competitions and the US Post Office.
In the 1930s, it became the official watch of numerous airlines, and during World War II in 1947, it temporarily halted civilian sales to produce nearly one million military watches.
In 1970, Hamilton introduced the world’s first digital watch, Pulser, and by 1977 it was acquired by the Omega-Longines-Tissot Group. In 1983, Hamilton became part of the Swatch Group.
