A total of 712 Tobu Railway 8000 and 8500 series cars have been manufactured since 1963, making them the largest number of cars of this type among private railway commuter trains.
Of these, the 8500 series is a two-car fixed formation. Taking advantage of its short formation, late-manufactured cars were mainly adapted for one-man operation through repairs, and it served on the Kameido Line, Daishi Line, Kiryu Line, Koizumi Line, and Sano Line.
Currently, these lines are gradually being replaced with 10000 series one-man operation cars, and the 8500 series will cease commercial operation within Tokyo with its operation on the Daishi Line on July 15, 2025.
This product features the two-car 8500 series 8579 formation, which served on all two-car one-man operation lines and was the last commercial train on the Kameido Line and Daishi Line.
By using a separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, it can be operated as an N gauge model train.
We recommend the TM-08R (20m class A) power unit, TT-04R running parts set, and PT4811N [0258] pantograph.
