A wide range of stylus lineup to meet your sound quality needs: Equipped with a lightweight solid elliptical stylus, it reduces the effective mass of the vibration system. This is a high-end elliptical stylus model with significantly improved basic performance. This allows for wide-band reproduction.
The body uses a paratoroidal coil structure: The AT-VMx series features a unique power generation system called a paratoroidal coil structure. The paratoroidal structure is a unitized, seamless core, so the magnetic flux is retained within the specially wound coil. This results in improved power generation efficiency and excellent linearity.
Threaded cartridge mounting holes: Compatible with integrated tone arms, which are widely used in the global Hi-Fi audio market. The new threaded holes make it easier to mount cartridges on integrated arms.
Improved visibility of the stylus tip during operation: With conventional VM-type cartridges, we received feedback that it was difficult to see the stylus tip when dropping the stylus on a record. With this model, while ensuring compatibility with previous models (replacement styli and bodies), we have added a V-shaped cut to the protector as a guide for stylus positioning, improving the visibility of the stylus tip.
A solid elliptical stylus model delivers clear, high-resolution sound. Audio-Technica's top-of-the-line lineup of proprietary VM-type cartridges has been reborn as the "AT-VM700x/600x/500x" series ("AT-VMx" series). This marks the first renewal in nine years since 2016, and the lineup now includes a wide range of models, from high-grade models with line contact styli to standard models with elliptical and round styli. In addition to the best sound quality in the history of VM-type cartridges, ease of use has also been improved. All models now use PCUHD (high-purity oxygen-free copper) for the coil conductor, achieving powerful low-frequency expression and a wide sound field.
