This detailing part recreates the "Okinawa Shield," a bulletproof machine gun shield that was temporarily installed on the M113 ACAV (Armored Cavalry Fighting Vehicle), an improved version of the M113 Armored Personnel Carrier, during the Vietnam War.
Compatible with the AFV Club M113 ACAV Armored Cavalry Fighting Vehicle (product number AF35113).
The M113, deployed in the Vietnam War, was also used by the U.S. military, as well as Australia and South Korea, which deployed troops to the conflict as allies.
Among these, the U.S. and South Korean forces equipped the cupola with a uniquely shaped bulletproof plate known as the "Okinawa Shield."
The periscope guide and base plate are 3D printed as a single unit.
