Introduction
Keith Kenniff/Helios, a longtime leader in the electronica scene, has released his third album, "Caesura," in a remastered reissue following his masterpiece "Eingya"!
Keith Kenniff is a talented composer who has worked on commercials for Apple, Facebook, Google, and other companies, as well as film scores, primarily focusing on meticulously crafted, sentimental electronica under the name Helios and minimalist, serene post-classical music focused on solo piano under the name Goldmund. Every release has been a long-time bestseller, and he has remained a top artist in the scene for over a decade.
This is a reissue of his third album, "Caesura," originally released by Type in 2008. It had been out of print for many years, but now it's finally here! His 2006 album, "Eingya," was a landmark in melodic electronica, weaving sentimental melodies played by Kenniff himself on acoustic instruments like piano and guitar with gentle synths, electronics, and field recordings, creating a profound influence on subsequent generations.
This new album, "Caesura," emphasizes beats and is more electronica-influenced than the acoustic-heavy "Eingya." While still retaining his cinematic melodies centered around piano and guitar, it also incorporates shoegaze and post-rock influences reminiscent of Ulrich Schnauss, creating the perfect Helios sound.
Newly packaged in a paper jacket. This Japan-exclusive reissue features remastering by Taylor Dupree, who also worked on Helios' "Yume" and their latest album, "Veriditas," released in 2018.
