During the Flower Festival and Obon, you can express your feelings by placing sweet tea incense sticks on top, which is Buddha's favorite, and offering them as a good memorial service.
We pray for the safety of our families every day with incense made from the gods' favorite sweet tea, which is said to ward off misfortune, wash away disasters, and grant wishes.
Package: Paper box / Package size: Length 15.5cm x Height 3.5cm x Width 9.4cm
Origin: Japan
Shape: Buddhist incense. Soothing incense / Net weight: 160g / Weight: Approx. 224g / Length: Approx. 14cm / Burn time: Approx. 30 minutes
On April 8th, during the Flower Festival, Buddha's birth is celebrated by pouring sweet tea over the Buddha statue. This incense, "Amacha-ko," is made with carefully selected sweet tea, which is said to ward off misfortune and disaster. Sweet tea is likened to nectar and is poured over Buddha.
The Buddha's favorite food purifies the body and is pleased with it. It is the established theory among gods and Buddhas that incense offerings, rather than incense for personal use, should first be presented to the Buddha in a beautiful presentation of his favorite food, and then the offering should be received.
During Obon and other festivals, when ancestors return from their original selves to become Buddhas, people put on beautiful makeup (performing a popular dance of hospitality similar to Kagura), and offer a feast to the Buddha during the Obon festival. It is said that the Buddha's wish for a feast will come true, and the Buddha's protection will be granted to the deceased and their family, bringing peace to the world.
The famous and popular sweet tea fragrance is said to grant the Buddha's wish for a feast, opening the eyes of attention, consideration, and concern, building a mountain of moral tradition, maintaining order by respecting superiors, leading to self-forgetfulness and altruism, and providing merit for surviving descendants to pass on good deeds to their ancestors.
In treating our ancestors who have returned as Buddhas, we extend the measure of compassion, offer the Buddha's favorite sweet tea incense, and welcome our guests with dignity and sincerity during the Obon festival.
If you treat others with care, consideration, and consideration, you will receive the greatest merit and your character will be refined and improved. The Buddha's wish for a feast will be granted.
