BMW regained its brilliance in the racing scene in the 1960s, when the 02 series of small two-door sedans began to take off, and its successor was the 3.0CSL, which we used as a motif, and its successor, the 320. The 3.0CSL has been participating in the ETC (European Touring Car Championship) since 1969. The weight of some parts of the vehicle was reduced by 200 kg by replacing steel with aluminum. The strength of this car was overwhelming, and in addition to reigning as the ETC champion for seven years from 1973 to 1979, it also won class wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring (1975), the 24 Hours of Daytona (1976), and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1973, 1974, and 1977. The 320 Group 5, on the other hand, was a machine built for the Group 5 race, which was a popular category next to F1 at the time, and was a silhouette formula car that had been modified to the point where it could be called a completely different vehicle, except for the roof shape, front mask, tail lamps, etc., which retained traces of the base car. Equipped with a 2-liter F2 engine, it was a huge success, winning the world championship in 1977 and 1978. 320 Group 5 is now available as a new mold!
