Mikawa Momen was widely used by common people during the Edo period due to its high quality and beautiful colors. In particular, gauze produced around Gamagori City in the Mikawa region is highly valued and is known as Gamagori Gauze. Gamagori gauze is made by carefully harvesting cotton and spinning the fibers. Then, a special manufacturing method creates a fluffy and soft texture. Gamagori gauze is soft to the touch and has excellent breathability, and is widely used in summer clothing and bedding.
