EXIST SF!! Go beyond finesse and into uncharted territory. Awakened maneuverability. The SF (Super Finesse) concept—a spinning reel design philosophy that far surpasses previous finesse, enabling millimeter-level precision control. For this new challenge, Daiwa chose the flagship compact spinning reel, "EXIST." Why? Daiwa doesn't expect peace from its flagship reels. It doesn't get too cozy. We want them to always be at the forefront of the fishing scene. EXIST SF—to put it bluntly, it's not a model student. While inheriting the EXIST philosophy, it defies convention. It's not versatile, it's focused on a single goal. Our goal was to achieve super finesse, surpassing finesse. While maintaining the fundamental EXIST features—such as the air drive design, full-metal (Mg) monocoque body, and MagShield—it's been tuned to its limits. Its target is narrowed down to bass, trout, and light saltwater using 4lb (fluorocarbon/nylon) or 0.6lb (PE) line or less, and it's thoroughly compact and lightweight. To achieve this, a certain level of durability and waterproofing has been sacrificed, but the reward is a realm no one has yet explored. Going far beyond the limits of finesse, the "maneuverability" allows the lure to trace its trajectory exactly as imagined, resulting in intense, one-on-one time with the fish. Its weight, narrowed to the bare minimum, allows for casting without excessive force, contributing to distance and precision. Its compact, palm-sized body allows for delicate feathering, ensuring precise target placement. The short spool elevates the smooth line release provided by the ATD TYPE-L to a new level. All of this technology is geared toward super finesse. The EXIST SF debuts, a reel that will awaken anglers. Differences between the EXIST SF and EXIST LT: ■ 20% drag performance improvement ⇒ The shorter spool reduces the variation in resistance experienced when releasing the line. Furthermore, the maximum drag force has been increased to 3kg, expanding the range of adjustment in the low drag range, which is important in finesse fishing, allowing for more optimal drag fine-tuning. ■ Casting distance/swing speed increase by approximately 7%/12% ⇒ The combination of the ultra-lightweight EXIST SF2500SS and STEEZ RC61L-SV tackle increases swing speed by approximately 12% compared to existing tackle. This improves the long-casting performance of lightweight lures. When casting the same distance, you can cast with less force, improving casting accuracy. ■Significant weight reduction ⇒By making the body approximately 20% more compact, we have achieved a significant weight reduction (LT2500S = 160g vs. SF2500SS = 140g). ■Approximately 16% increase in sensitivity ⇒By designing internal parts specifically for the SF, such as a smaller diameter main shaft, vibration transmission performance has been improved.
