[Ushio and Tora Story] Ushio Aotsuki, a middle school boy, lives with his father, a temple priest. One day, he encounters something incredible in the basement of their family's storehouse. It is a great demon that was feared by the people as a vicious monster long ago and had been sealed away for 500 years by the "Beast Spear"! Ushio pulls out the spear and is nearly eaten by the demon, but at the same time, the power of the "Beast Spear" awakens from its slumber, allowing him to transform and quickly defeat the other demons that have swarmed the demon. Fearing the power of the spear, the great demon unwittingly cooperates with Ushio, who names him "Tora" and they begin traveling together. Thus was born the "Ushi-Tora" duo: a boy who became the heir to the "Beast Spear" and a great demon who stalks him, intent on one day eating him.
