KATO N Gauge EF65 500 Series P-Type Express Color 3060-4 Electric Locomotive Model

This EF65 500 series P-type (Passenger) locomotive was designed to pull passenger trains such as the Blue Train. This circa 1975 design features locomotives 501-512, newly built and deployed to Tokyo Locomotive Depot in 1965. The PS17C pantograph provides realistic reproduction of the rooftop details and bold bodywork. The express train livery of blue and cream is beautifully reproduced. The slotless motor provides smoother, quieter running performance. Headlights illuminate (warm white LED). Arnold couplers are standard equipment. Replacement knuckle couplers are included. The manufacturer's plate and body markings are accurately reproduced through printing. Selectable number plates: "501," "503," "505," and "506." Compatible with quick headmarks. "Asakaze" and "Fuji" headmarks are included.

The EF65 500 series was developed from 1964-1965 (1964-1965) based on the EF60, and was used to pull the 20 Series Sleeper Express and KoKi 10000 Series High-Speed Freight Trains, the flagship trains of the Tokaido Main Line at the time. Passenger locomotives are known as the P Series, while freight locomotives are known as the F Series, and are characterized by their different equipment. Due to a shortage of passenger locomotives, eight cars from the EF65 0 series were modified and incorporated. The use of a slotless motor allows for even smoother running.
