Taiko drumsticks are made using rolling pin processing technology and are made from solid Japanese cypress wood. This drumstick is a popular product of our store and is made by applying the manufacturing process of rolling pins. Like rolling pins, this is a popular product that has been well-received by those who have purchased it once, and many purchase multiple pieces. Just like rolling pins, each one is handmade by a craftsman, and in the end, we weigh each one and send a combination of the same weight.
Available in 5 sizes and 3 types of materials. The sound of the drum will vary depending on the length, thickness, and material of the drumsticks, so please consider the environment in which you will use it when making your selection. You can choose from cypress wood, poplar wood, or cypress wood. In addition, all drumsticks have rounded and chamfered tips.
We use luxurious natural cypress wood, which is perfect for soba making tools. Hiba wood is resistant to moisture, has little curling, and is light in weight. Hiba wood has long been used as a building material for shrines and temples, but the material has strong medicinal properties and is highly resistant to moisture and corrosion, so it is also used as a material for bath utensils such as tubs. Hiba is characterized by its unique strong aroma, and because it contains hinokitiol, it is extremely resistant to bacteria, and is said to be the highest quality material for cutting boards. We only use solid wood with narrow growth rings and straight grain.
All wood used for tools is slowly naturally dried. In order to make delicious soba noodles, the soba making tools are made of wood, but require a particularly high level of precision. The point is, "How straight is it?" For this reason, Kobo Ogawa is particular about drying the materials. In order to reduce warping of the wood, all the wood used for tools is made into square pieces one by one and left to dry naturally for at least six months. It takes time, but by doing this, the tools will be less likely to warp during and after processing.
Careful processing. Carefully, one by one. We have adopted a unique processing method to reduce warping during the processing process, resulting in a round finish. Each piece is polished using our own original polishing machine, resulting in a clean finish with no scratches on the surface, making it very easy to grip.

[Precautions for use] Do not use if damaged. There is a risk of injury. Please be careful not to swing, throw, or handle roughly. When not in use, store it in a bag or box, avoiding high temperatures and humidity. Since it is made of natural wood, washing it with water may cause it to warp or crack.
