Instructions For Use
With Stethoscope
Step 1
Make sure the air release valve is twisted all the way to the right to close it off.
Step 2
Wrap the cuff around the arm, keep it snug but not too tight. Put the stethoscope's head on the artery to find a pulse.
Step 3
Pump air into the cuff up to about 200 mmHg, release the valve and listen to the beats
Without Stethoscope
Step 1
Make sure the air release valve is twisted all the way to the right to close it off.
Step 2
Wrap the cuff around the arm, keep it snug but not too tight. Place your fingertips on the artery to find a pulse.
Step 3
Pump air into the cuff until you can no longer feel the pulse. Slowly release the valve and feel for the first pulse on the artery. This is your systolic number and should be documented as palpation - 120/P*.
