The model is of the first-generation No. 11 and No. 12 locomotives, and recreates the position of the lightning arrester, which is off to one side, which differs from the second and third-generation models, as well as the shape of the taillights.
The couplers are interchangeable with the included dummy couplers. Two types of dummy couplers are included: an automatic coupler and a double-headed dual-purpose coupler.
The jumper plug holders on the two ends are colored.
The car number can be changed using the included inlays.
An Arnold coupler for coupling to the 115 series is included. *Use in conjunction with the separately sold "A023 Coupler for Coupling Leading Cars."

The minimum running radius of the EF63 alone is R95. When coupled with multiple units or a 489 Series or 115 Series, it becomes R195. Headlights and taillights light up. Can be turned on/off with a switch inside the car.
